NINJA IS HOME!

Ninja was found on July 11 - after seven days of wandering around O'Neill Park -  almost six miles away from home!  A wonderful woman named Kerry found Ninja in her garage trying to eat some cat food and helped get Ninja back home.  Poor Ninja had lost two pounds during her week of wandering and had several ticks and cactus needles embedded in her body.  She was taken to the vet right away to get checked over and cleaned up.  Ninja's mom wants to thank everyone for their good thoughts and wishes and especially Kerry for helping bring Ninja home.  HOORAY!!!

BOGIE WAS FOUND!

Bogie was found by a nice couple who went to shelter and saw one of the Lost Dog flyers posted at the shelter by his owners.  They called the number on the flyer and Bogie has been reunited with is owners! We are so happy for Bogie and his family.

As this family's experience confirms, posting flyers is one of the best ways to get the word out that you have lost or found a dog.  Posting the flyers as soon as possible in the area the pet has gone missing and at all the local shelters increases the likelihood that you will be reunited with your lost pet.  Another good protective measure is to have your pet microchipped and to register the microchip to you with the microchip manufacturer.

BOGIE IS LOST

Moreno Valley, California

June 24, 2008

Bogie escaped from his yard through a broken fence on June 24, 2008.  Bogie was not wearing a collar when he made his break!

Bogie is a 1-1/2 year old, brindle and white male Boston terrier who is sweet as pie.  His family misses him terribly and can't even imagine how scared he must be.  They have been scouring the shelters daily hoping that someone has found him and turned him in - but all to no avail.

They are heartbroken and want Bogie back home with them.

If you have seen Bogie or have any information on his whereabouts please contact Boston Buddies immediately at 310-364-4543 or email us at contactus@bostonbuddies.org

BONES IS HOME!

Bones was returned home almost two weeks after he ran out.  He had been found only two doors down from where he went missing and the people who found him initially wanted to keep him even though they saw the Lost Dog posters plastered all over the area by his distraught family.  After his family posted the Lost Dog notice on the local public access tv station the woman who found Bones decided to do the right thing and returned him.  He is home with his family and healthy and happy!

UPDATE: MASON HAS BEEN FOUND!

MASON IS LOST!

February, 2008

Near Murrieta, CA

(Photo Coming)

Sweet Mason was let out of his mom's house by a neighbor. She has looked high and low and cannot find her boy. He is a neutered male, brindle and white, and a little over a year old.  He is wearing a Zoe's collection collar with his name tag that
says Mason on it, but his mom just changed her home number on Monday, so the phone number on it is no longer accurate. He is a sweet sweet boy who is terribly missed..

Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. It is cold and rainy outside and his mom hopes he is warm indoors.

If you have spotted Mason or have any

information on his whereabouts,

please contact Boston Buddies immediately at 310-364-4543 or email us at contactus@bostonbuddies.org

UPDATE: Gemini Was Returned to Her Owners!

The people who found Gemini standing in the street posted flyers in the neighborhood and Gemini's owners saw the flyers, called the number and identified her as their dog.

Gemini wandered out of the garage while they were doing chores around the house on Sunday!  They are so thankful to have her home.

Our experience suggests that posting flyers in the area a dog is lost or found is the most effective way of reuniting a dog that is not wearing identification or implanted with microchip.

BOSTON FOUND IN BUENA PARK

UPDATE: Aldo was Returned to His Owners

Aldo's owners contacted Boston Buddies after neighbors spotted them putting up Lost Dog flyers and told them that Aldo had been turned over the Palos Verdes Police Department who had then turned Aldo over to Boston Buddies instead of keeping him in the cold outdoor kennel at the police station.  Aldo had escaped from a hole in the fencing of their backyard.  The owners have promised to repair the fence and Boston Buddies has encouraged them to get Aldo microchipped and to register the chip.

If you have not done so recently, Boston Buddies encourages you to walk the perimeter of your yard to insure that there are no escape paths for your animals.  Better yet, don't leave your animals in the backyard unattended.  Bostons are very social animals and want nothing more than to be in the house with their families - they are not outside dogs and should be provided with access to the house at all times.

BOSTON FOUND IN PALOS VERDES

UPDATE: Blackie Was Returned

to His Owners

Blackie's owners contacted Boston Buddies and provided a description and vet records for proof of ownership.  Apparently Blackie and his Boston sibling were kept outdoors in a dog run for a few hours a day and someone left the gate open and Blackie got out.  A good samaritan saw Blackie being chased along railroad tracks by a group of children who were throwing rocks at him.  The good samaritan picked Blackie up and rescued him from the horribly behaving children.  When she discovered Blackie had no collar she went around knocking on doors at the surrounding residences but no one knew who Blackie was or who he belonged to.  The samaritan contacted Boston Buddies and turned Blackie over to us.  Boston Buddies took Blackie to a vet to be scanned for a microchip, but Blackie was not microchipped.  Boston Buddies provided Blackie with a warm place to stay while we searched for his owners.  If Blackie had been wearing a collar with identifying information or if he had been microchipped and the chip registered he could have been back home much sooner.  If your dog is not wearing a collar and id tag and/or microchipped, please take these very important precautions as soon as possible.

Blackie's owners brought a collar and id tag with them when they came to pick him up and told us they intended to take the important second step of having him and his Boston sibling microchipped.

MARLEY HAS BEEN FOUND!

Through some wonderful detective work by his dad Marley is back at home!  Yeah Marley!!!!

STOLEN BOSTON ALERT

IN

SANTA MONICA

MARLEY

Stolen September 26, 2007

Marley is a 2 year old male Boston who was dog napped on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 from inside a coffee shop on Pico and 33rd Street in Santa Monica, California.  Marley's dad owns the office building that the coffee shop is located in and Marley would go to work with his dad every day.  Everyone in the building knows Marley and he would visit the coffee shop occasionally to get a treat.  On Wednesday a man in the coffee shop grabbed Marley and ran out the door with him, jumped in his black crossover SUV/truck and sped away before anyone could stop him.   One of the coffee shop's employees jumped in his car and tried to give chase but the thief got away with poor Marley!  Unfortunately, no one was able to get a license plate number for the getaway car.  They did notice however that there was a handicap placard hanging from the rearview mirror of the car and those who witnessed the dog napping believed that the thief appeared to be mentally challenged.  Marley is neutered and he is microchipped - most people comment that Marley looks like a miniature boxer.

Marley's owners and everyone who knows him are devastated.  They have plastered the surrounding area with posters and have listed him on Dog Detective - Marley's Dog Detective Page.

If you have seen Marley or know anything about this case, please either contact Boston Buddies or Marley's owners through the Dog Detective listing.

Marley says "Please Help Me Get Home!"
